I like to plant something bright green in between.  Maybe some lilies of some sort, very tough!  If you live in the Northwest or upper Midwest,  chartreuse colored plants should be easy to come by.  That lime green always adds a spark and a coolness that is so inviting on a hot summer day.  What about some of those, well…..”gorgeous” understates the grandeur of Hydrangeas!  Oh how I wish I could grow them where I live, alas, too much alkali in my soil.  But I just know that in heaven I will grow Hydrangeas!
