Dig your creek bed a few inches deep; 8 inches should do it. A dry creek bed doesn’t have to be deep, unless you are actually planning on using it to divert water, which by the way, is a wonderful reason to create one of these landscaping beauties.
Mound the soil you dig along the creek “banks”, and wherever you have created a turn, mound the soil a little higher creating the illusion that the “water” is deeper there. Here is where you’ll want to add a few of your bigger rocks indicating the water is being redirected through the turn.
