1. Determine how high you want your “fence” to be. Maybe have someone stand on a ladder to get a good visual of how high, “high” is. This will help as you choose your plants for that purpose.
2. Especially important is deciding on how wide your fence should be. Be sure to plant far enough on your side of the fence so as not to encroach upon your neighbors when the shrubbery or trees are full grown.
