Kitchen window sills are the most fun to decorate!  And this time of year when we only have our hopes that Spring will come, and everything is still barren and the weather is still disagreeable (so have I made myself clear that March is NOT one of my favorite months?), a kitchen window sill can brighten every morning!

I was at Home Depot last night and they are now stocking their pansies and primroses (so is Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, etc.) I love to get a basket and fill with pots of pansies, add a topiary and whatever else looks cute with it.  It enlivens the whole kitchen!  Don’t bother planting the pansies in the basket, just stick the whole plastic containers in the basket and cover with some Spanish moss and it looks so cute.  When you water them use a little water soluble fertilizer to extend their life.  Wal-Mart carries a great off brand of Miracle Gro.

TIP: Either put your basket in the sink or put it on a tray so when you water it doesn’t run all over your sill.
